My decorator did not recommend this fountain, thought it would be overwhelming. I went against her judgement anyway. I knew from my first instincts this was the one. Never second question your first choice. This fountain was the perfect piece to finish off my living room. It is very unique and does not splash over for me as other reviews have stated. My only recommendation is that you need to put a sponge or something under the pump so it doesn't set directly on the bottom of the fountain base. Takes out ALL of the rumble noise. If this is the fountain you like go with your first instincts and get it. You won't be disappointed. I'm not.

I have since received a replacement pump from the manufacturer and installed it several days ago. Note that the original pump included with the fountain was rated at 7 watts and the replacement sent by Alpine is 8.5 watts...big difference! It is more powerful & as a result, pumps the water at a much faster, stronger rate. I had to adjust the top tier to accomodate the increased flow of water so that it would not leak and spill out of the side. So far, it has vastly outperformed the original pump but its only been 2 days so we'll see if it continues to turn on and pump the water as it should without my having to pour out the existing water and refill the fountain as before. Will update in appx 2 weeks...lets hope this is the "fix"...cause I love this fountain...
PS: The increased pump strength equals a more noticeable water sound while pumping water which is a wonderful bonus!!

Placed the fountain in my large open living/dining area. Has a nice effect when you enter the room, and is very soothing. A bit loud, but nothing worse than a large aquarium.

This fountain was really easy to set up, and looks attractive in the room. No splash-over at all which is really great. However, the water running back into the interior of the fountain was very loud and annoying. Easily solved by having the water drip onto something beside the water; I used a brick and it is now fantastic. May even buy another one for the other side of our great room.

I really love this fountain. It is a wonderful additional decor to our newly remodeled bedroom. The only reason I gave it a four out of five is because it does not have an on and off switch and it has two separate plugs (one for the motor and the light). Every time I want to turn the fountain on, I have to go under my stand to plug both plugs in. My husband bought a remote for the fountain, but it stopped working after using it only once. This product would have been perfect, if it only had an on and off switch.

Q1: Can this item be left outside? I live in Florida where there is a heavy rainy season. What about the electrical? Is it made for outdoors? I plan to install it in a garden where it will not be protected from the elements. thanks

A: This item is made for indoor/outdoor use. It is an electric fountain and has a power cord that is fit to be used outdoors.

Q2: If I order this today, will I automatically receive the 8.5 watt motor that is needed?

A: Yes, this item includes the electric recirculating pump.

Q3: I want to verify that this fountain may be kept outside during northern Ohio winters and that the pump size is 8.5 watts. Thanks.

A: We do suggest if you are keeping it outdoors during the winter months in your climate to completely drain the fountain, remove the pump and place in a dry area and cover the fountain.

Q4: The light in the fountain, can it be turned on or off?

A: There is no separate switch for the light.

Q5: Is there a location in the Denver area where we can view this product?
